Head of People Operations

About the role

Sitemate is looking for a senior leader to own the People Operations function end‑to‑end, covering global payroll, employee lifecycle, talent acquisition, IT provisioning and all people programs. This hands‑on, builder‑first role will design and implement AI‑driven systems that keep the team small while the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Map and automate manual admin steps across payroll, hiring and people programs, prioritising high‑impact areas.
• Design the next version of People Operations architecture, integrating tools such as Rippling, Remote and Ashby.
• Build AI agents and automation playbooks that enable managers to run cycles independently.
• Lead, coach and develop a two‑person People Operations team, setting SLAs and KPIs.
• Partner with CEO, Finance, Legal and department leaders on strategy, compensation, compliance and org design.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading People Operations through high‑growth, high‑change periods.
• Strong track record of building automated, product‑like HR systems.
• Ability to work hands‑on, building workflows, agents and playbooks.
• Excellent stakeholder management with C‑level executives and cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Experience with HR platforms such as Rippling, Remote and Ashby.
• Knowledge of AI‑driven automation and workflow design.
• Understanding of global payroll, talent acquisition and employee relations.
