Head of People and Culture

About the role

Warrikal is looking for an experienced, commercially‑minded Head of People & Culture to lead the P&C function and shape the people strategy as the business grows. Reporting to the CEO, this senior leadership role works closely with executive and operations teams to ensure the people strategy supports safe, productive and sustainable performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a People & Culture strategy aligned with business and operational priorities.
• Build and maintain practical, responsive, commercially focused P&C practices.
• Provide strategic advice on employee relations, industrial relations, performance, organisational change and workplace compliance.
• Coach managers and senior leaders to strengthen their capability in people management.
• Leverage workforce insights and data to support executive decision‑making.
• Strengthen leadership capability, employee engagement and culture across site‑based, FIFO and corporate teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience partnering with operations and senior leadership in an operational workforce environment, preferably mining, resources, engineering, construction or heavy industry.
• Demonstrated capability in employee and industrial relations, including knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work, awards and enterprise agreements.
• Understanding of people and workforce requirements for site‑based and FIFO operations.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Visible, pragmatic leadership style with the ability to build credibility across operational and corporate teams.
• Integrity, discretion and a commitment to building high‑performing teams.
