Head of Marketing Communications & Partnerships

About the role

The Head of Marketing Communications & Partnerships will steer MHPN’s marketing communication strategy and build strategic partnerships that amplify the organisation’s mission to support mental health professionals across Australia. This senior position reports to senior leadership and leads a small communications team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing communications strategies aligned with organisational goals.
• Manage public relations activities to protect and enhance MHPN’s reputation.
• Identify, negotiate, and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders and external organisations.
• Oversee content creation for webinars, podcasts, and other CPD resources.
• Guide and mentor a small communications team, coordinating cross‑functional initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with risk, privacy, project and budget management requirements.

Required profile

• Senior expertise in marketing, communications and member engagement within a for‑purpose or health sector.
• Proven experience planning, executing and evaluating communication strategies in complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong public‑relations skills and ability to foster partnerships.
• Demonstrated leadership managing teams and cross‑functional projects.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication abilities.
• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
• Relevant experience in mental health or healthcare communication is highly desirable.
