About the role

The Head of Credit Strategy and Portfolio Oversight leads the Business & Private Bank risk team, providing independent second‑line oversight of credit risk strategy, governance and portfolio performance. This senior leadership position shapes credit risk outcomes, influences strategic decisions and ensures robust governance across a complex portfolio environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Credit Strategy and Portfolio Oversight function, delivering independent oversight of credit risk across Business & Private Bank.
• Define and maintain credit strategy governance frameworks and oversight practices for all portfolios.
• Engage enterprise stakeholders, influencing credit risk policy, regulatory outcomes and strategic direction.
• Oversee portfolio risk insights, reporting and governance to support executive decision‑making.
• Build organisational capability and foster a proactive risk culture across teams.

Required profile

• Exceptional leadership, influencing and executive stakeholder management capabilities.
• Deep expertise in credit risk, governance, regulatory frameworks and portfolio management.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Extensive experience with quantitative analytics and related processes.
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to navigate complex enterprise environments.
• Adaptable mindset aligned with ANZ’s 2030 Strategy and proven ability to lead large teams through change.
