Group & Event Planning Manager

About the role

Four Seasons Sydney, in the historic Rocks district, is looking for a Group & Event Planning Manager reporting to the Director of Catering & Conference Services. You will work with Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Security and Finance to ensure client and guest satisfaction and the successful execution of every group, conference and event at the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with hotel operations so that service is delivered while groups and events are in house, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Greet group and event contacts on arrival, meet them during their stay and welcome them on departure.
• Ensure Four Seasons service standards are met, handle complaints and resolve issues with clients and stakeholders.
• Liaise directly with clients during the planning of conferences, social and corporate events and group accommodation.
• Work with sales and marketing to plan conferences, events and group accommodation smoothly and efficiently.
• Coordinate with the on-site AV company and other suppliers and contractors to cover audio-visual needs.
• Negotiate sales between sales and catering to use function space effectively and maximise revenue.
• Proactively upsell conference, banqueting and food and beverage services.

Required profile

• At least 2 years' experience in a large group and event planning role in a high-volume hotel or function centre.
• Able to prioritise and handle multiple files and tasks at once.
• Strong communication and attention to detail in planning and executing events and group business.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Solid local market knowledge.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of computer systems.
