Graduate Software Engineer – 24‑Month Fixed‑Term Program

About the role

Join Open Point’s 24‑month Graduate Software Engineer program in Melbourne. You’ll rotate across the Open Point Platform, gaining hands‑on experience with multiple codebases, teams and AI‑driven features while being supported by mentors and a structured learning plan.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable code within an agile development team.
• Contribute to new features across the Open Point Platform.
• Design, build and integrate AI‑powered workflows and tools, such as LLM APIs and automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate and implement AI solutions that improve product functionality and internal efficiency.
• Support testing, refinement and secure deployment of AI features for government‑facing products.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and deployment processes.
• Work with product managers, designers and senior engineers to deliver features for real government and community users.

Required profile

• Recently completed (or completing) a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Experience with AI tools and LLM APIs.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks.
• Agile software development practices.
• Code review, testing and deployment processes.
• Understanding of secure development standards (SOC2, ISO 27001, ISO 9001).
