About the role
SMEC is seeking a recent Civil Engineering graduate to join its leading Dams & Hydropower business in Melbourne. You will be mentored by senior professionals and gain exposure to complex dam and hydropower projects across Australia and New Zealand.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in detailed design and documentation of new dams and hydropower schemes under supervision.
- Support dam safety upgrades, surveillance inspections and safety review studies.
- Liaise with supervisors, draftspersons and specialist consultants to resolve design issues.
- Help prepare specifications, proposals and other project documentation.
- Contribute to a dynamic, innovative team culture while delivering project packages.
Required profile
- Civil Engineering graduate with strong academic performance.
- Enthusiasm for a career in dams and hydropower.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Understanding of technical, commercial and financial aspects of engineering projects.
