Glass Plant Operator

About the role

HeidelbergMaterials is seeking a reliable, motivated Glass Plant Operator for its Laverton recycling facility. You will be trained to safely operate, monitor and maintain the glass recycling plant while ensuring efficient production and a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the glass recycling plant and associated equipment safely.
• Perform daily inspections, identify blockages or faults and report them promptly.
• Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping of the plant.
• Operate a Bobcat and other mobile plant equipment as required.
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to maintain plant performance and product quality.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a strong safety focus.
• Hands‑on, mechanically minded and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically capable of general plant and housekeeping duties.
• Possesses a current Forklift Licence (LF) and reliable transport to the site.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (LF licence).
• Bobcat and mobile plant operation.
• Basic mechanical or maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with conveyors, screens, crushers or similar processing equipment (highly regarded).
