Geriatric Medicine Physician – Vancouver Island

About the role

The Division of Geriatric Medicine is seeking a qualified physician to join its team of 11 Geriatricians and 5 Care‑of‑the‑Elderly doctors. Based in the state‑of‑the‑art Patient Care Centre in Victoria, the role focuses on delivering high‑quality internal medicine care to seniors across Vancouver Island.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for older adults.
• Rotate through all specialized geriatric services, including multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Collaborate with dedicated interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Participate in clinical teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate learners affiliated with the UBC Island Medical Program.

Required profile

• Board‑certified in Internal Medicine with additional training or experience in Geriatrics.
• Commitment to senior‑focused care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Willingness to engage in academic teaching activities.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and management of complex elderly patients.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
