General Medicine PGY3+ - 7 Nights On/Off, Ongoing

About the role

A private hospital in Northern NSW is seeking a PGY3+ doctor for General Medicine ward cover starting 1 February 2027 and ongoing. The work is primarily low-acuity post-operative patients, with no emergency department and no trauma or unplanned surgery. The arrangement is a week on, week off schedule, with relaxed hinterland living near the coast.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ward cover for low-acuity post-operative patients
• Stay on site during the Friday shift (1600 to Monday 0800) for 64 hours; meals are provided free of charge and accommodation is paid for all hours 24/7

Required profile

• PGY3+ in General Medicine
• Registered with AHPRA and right to work in Australia
• Locally based doctor preferred

What we offer

• Week on, week off schedule: Monday to Thursday 1600-0800 at $1920 per shift, and Friday 1600 to Monday 0800 at $7680 (64 hours)
• Travel costs covered and a shared hospital-owned house provided
• Typically only one doctor stays at a time
