General Manager – Pumphouse Point & Derwent Bridge Hotel

About the role

Lead two iconic Tasmanian properties – Pumphouse Point and Derwent Bridge Hotel – as part of NRMA Parks & Resorts. You will be responsible for operational, financial, guest experience and people performance, reporting to the Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a positive culture focused on engagement, accountability and guest excellence.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of both properties and deliver consistent, exceptional guest experiences.
• Drive financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, labour management and cost control.
• Develop and execute annual business plans, strategic objectives and revenue‑growth initiatives.
• Manage stakeholder, tourism industry and community relationships as an ambassador for the NRMA brand.
• Oversee capital works, property improvement projects and ensure compliance with policies, legislation and licensing.

Required profile

• Proven success as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager or senior hospitality leader in a premium hotel or resort.
• Extensive experience leading multi‑department operations including accommodation, food & beverage and commercial performance.
• Strong people leadership with ability to motivate, mentor and develop teams.
• Commercial acumen with a track record of managing budgets, P&L and operational efficiencies.
• Experience managing remote tourism or hospitality operations is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Newbook (hotel property management system) – highly regarded.
