General Manager – Hotel & Resort

About the role

Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort in Salamander Bay. You will be responsible for overall performance, profitability, guest satisfaction and team development across this flagship regional property.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring high standards of presentation, service and financial results.
• Develop and execute strategic revenue and budgeting plans.
• Lead, mentor and manage department heads (F&B, Housekeeping, Front Office).
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, corporate stakeholders, body corporate, strata managers and local partners.
• Ensure compliance with WHS, licensing and caretaking obligations.
• Identify improvement areas and implement strategic procedures.
• Foster a high‑performing, guest‑first team culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leader in a hotel or serviced‑apartments environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Hospitality or Business Management.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with a track record in budgeting, forecasting and revenue optimisation.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and people‑leadership skills.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
