General Labourer – Landscape & Civil Projects

About the role

CivilandScape is seeking an experienced general labourer to support a variety of landscape and civil projects across Sydney’s inner city and outer suburbs. The role involves hands‑on work on residential, commercial and high‑rise developments, assisting the foreman and tradespeople on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Assist foremen and tradesmen with daily tasks and site preparation.
• Clean work areas, remove debris and manage construction waste.
• Construct walkways, patios, walls, fences, decks, posts and other structures.
• Dig ditches, trenches and perform land‑clearing activities.
• Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns.
• Load, unload and transport materials, tools and equipment using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts and dollies.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including inspections, lubrication and cleaning.
• Operate a range of tools such as chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers and drills.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in landscape or civil construction.
• Sound understanding of WHSE practices and ability to work in line with NSW WHSE regulations.
• Current NSW White Card.
• Well‑presented, professional appearance when interacting with clients and the public.
• Ability to work efficiently, independently and without direct supervision.
• Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients.

Required skills

• Operation of chainsaws, jackhammers and laser levels.
• Use of measurement equipment, shovels, hammers and drills.
• Knowledge of WHSE practices and compliance.
• Holding a valid NSW White Card.

What we offer

• Standard hours 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday with overtime and Saturday work as needed.
• Annual salary commensurate with experience (salary not publicly disclosed).
