Forward Deployed Engineer – Scams Prevention

About the role

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) will work closely with business stakeholders and operational teams to solve high‑value challenges within AFCA’s Scams Prevention Framework. This hands‑on technical role blends software, AI, automation and data engineering to deliver rapid, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business and customer teams to identify automation, AI and digital enablement opportunities.
• Design, prototype and build production‑ready solutions, integrating platforms such as Optimizely, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Dynamics, Workday, Databricks and AI services.
• Develop AI‑enabled solutions using LLMs, agents and retrieval architectures while ensuring responsible AI governance.
• Capture recurring requirements, influence platform roadmaps and standardise bespoke solutions into reusable enterprise capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in software, solution, AI or data engineering.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
• Commercial mindset focused on measurable business outcomes.
