First Engineer

About the role

Join Coral Expeditions, a pioneering Australian cruise line, as a First Engineer. You will be part of the onboard engineering team responsible for maintaining the vessel’s propulsion and auxiliary systems during domestic and international voyages.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all engine room equipment.
• Order parts and equipment, maintain firefighting gear, and ensure cleanliness of the engine room.
• Maintain pumps, hydraulic and electrical systems, lighting, and bridge equipment.
• Perform bunkering of fuel and oil, manage oil record books, and comply with pollution regulations.
• Stand watch for mechanical and electrical issues and conduct engine room tours for guests.

Required profile

• Engineer Class 1 or 2 (STCW95) with Engineer Watchkeeper CoC and First Engineer endorsement.
• Valid ASSB certification and International AMSA Medical clearance.
• First Aid, CPR, and a valid passport with MSIC card.
• Passenger ship experience is preferred.

Required skills

• STCW95 Engineer Class 1/2 certification.
• Engineer Watchkeeper CoC with First Engineer endorsement.
• ASSB (Advanced Shipboard Safety and Survival) certification.
• International AMSA Medical certification.
• First Aid and CPR qualifications.
