General Purpose Hand (Deckhand) – Casual

About the role

We are seeking casual General Purpose Hands (GPH) to work on a 7‑day roster supporting vessel operations and delivering excellent customer service to maritime passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Master in maintaining a safe and compliant marine operation.
• Handle deck lines and boarding hardware safely.
• Clean passenger cabins and deck areas efficiently.
• Perform watch‑keeping duties as directed.
• Validate tickets, assist passengers and maintain good relations.
• Serve beverages from the onboard kiosk in line with Responsible Service of Alcohol guidelines.

Required profile

• NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol licence.
• AMSA General Purpose Hand Certificate of Competency.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Valid NSW Working with Children Check.

Required skills

• Safe handling of deck line and boarding hardware.
• Customer service and passenger assistance.
• Basic cleaning and housekeeping on vessels.
• Compliance with safety and alcohol service regulations.
