About the role
The Financial Crime team is seeking a Consultant to help organisations strengthen their risk and compliance frameworks. You will work with leading Australian clients to prevent, detect and deter money laundering, fraud, bribery, corruption and other financial crimes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the scoping, execution and delivery of financial crime advisory, review and remediation projects.
- Analyse and document policies, procedures and data across KYC/Customer Due Diligence, transaction monitoring, customer screening, sanctions and regulatory reporting (IFTIs, TTRs, SMRs).
- Draft findings and reports to help clients mitigate financial crime risks.
- Manage project delivery, liaise with clients and support junior resources.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, gap analyses and develop compliance programmes.
- Assist clients in designing and implementing AML and CTF measures and deliver training sessions.
- Stay current with legislative reforms, emerging trends and regulatory changes.
- Coordinate work streams with other KPMG departments where relevant.
Required profile
- Proven experience in financial crime risk, compliance or related consulting.
- Ability to lead projects and manage client relationships.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of AML/CTF regulations and industry best practices.
