Financial Controller – Property

About the role

This is a hands‑on Financial Controller position within a privately funded investment group that operates across property, equities and international structures. You will own finance, reporting and compliance for multiple entities and trusts, partnering directly with senior stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and support strategic investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial management, reporting and cash‑flow for group entities and trusts.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Manage inter‑entity transactions, distributions and loan accounts across the group.
• Lead tax compliance including BAS, income tax, trust distributions, Division 7A and CGT.
• Partner with external tax advisers to ensure ATO and private‑group governance compliance.
• Maintain internal controls, policies and regulatory filings (ASIC, ATO, trust deeds).
• Manage property accounting, investment tracking and financial due diligence on acquisitions.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with 8+ years of experience in Big‑4 or mid‑tier advisory, family offices or real‑estate investment environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian and international tax, trust structures and inter‑entity accounting.
• Commercially astute communicator able to manage complex group structures and senior stakeholders.
