Director, Australian Wealth Distribution

About the role

Barings is expanding its Australian business and seeks a Director to lead the distribution of wholesale and retail investment strategies across the local wealth channel. Based in Sydney, the role reports to the Head of Australian Wealth Distribution and supports coverage of national clients and prospects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue business opportunities within independent financial advisers, retail consultants, private wealth groups, private banks, family offices and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations and seminars to educate and support clients on Barings’ investment offering.
• Provide tailored investment solutions and superior service to meet client needs.
• Collaborate with investment teams to clearly articulate strategies and value propositions.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to uncover distribution opportunities.
• Assist with national roadshows, industry conventions and related events.
• Travel domestically or internationally as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar role with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Strong understanding of investment products, financial markets and portfolio construction.
• Strategic thinker with proactive, organised approach to business development and client relationship management.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related field; CFA, CAIA, MBA or master’s preferred.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of public and private Fixed Income and Real Estate asset classes (preferred).
