Financial Accountant

About the role

Coronado Global Resources is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team at the Brisbane corporate office. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the Curragh operation, supporting business decisions and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly performance reports, variance analysis and journal entries.
• Maintain the integrity of general ledgers, fixed asset records and reconciliations across Australian operations.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to uphold SOX and internal control compliance.
• Coordinate statutory and industry reporting and support ad‑hoc financial projects.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Site and Corporate teams to align financial outcomes with business priorities.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field with CA or CPA qualification (complete or underway).
• Minimum two years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services or corporate environment.
• Strong financial reporting, analysis and internal control knowledge.
• Proactive mindset with curiosity about how financial performance drives operations.

Required skills

• Experience with SAP, SAC or TM1 (or similar financial systems).
• Advanced Excel capability.
