Finance Manager - Specialised Strata Finance & Advisory

About the role

Bright & Duggan Group is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead and grow its specialised finance capability supporting Building Management Committees (BMCs), Building Management Groups (BMGs), mixed-use developments, community associations and other complex property structures. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead both the operational delivery and strategic development of the Specialised Strata Finance & Advisory function and act as subject matter expert on complex financial governance, funding structures, allocation methodologies and stakeholder advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial governance and advisory services across complex schemes and property structures, influencing stakeholders on funding, levy structures, reserve adequacy and governance.
• Support tenders, proposals and business development, and design scalable frameworks, methodologies and service offerings.
• Oversee specialised finance processes, reporting and financial controls, and review and approve journals, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and year-end adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with AASB and IFRS accounting standards, and lead audit engagement activities and complex accounting assessments.
• Mentor and develop finance team members, build advisory capability and reduce key-person dependency.
• Drive process improvement, automation and technology adoption, and partner across finance, technology and operational teams.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion) with significant relevant experience.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in finance, accounting, advisory or property-related environments.
• Experience managing complex financial processes and stakeholder relationships, and leading projects and process improvements.
• Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance audiences.
• Highly desirable: Big 4 accounting firms or audit/consulting roles with property exposure, property advisory, development or commercial real estate finance backgrounds, or a move from consulting into an industry leadership role.
