Finance Manager – Sales & Customer Portfolio

About the role

Join Qantas as a Finance Manager and lead financial planning, analysis, reporting and advisory services for the Sales and Customer portfolio. This fixed‑term role (until September 2027) is based in Mascot, Sydney and offers the chance to influence strategic decisions across a major airline group.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial services and support to aggregate and review business unit results.
• Deliver analysis, insights, commentary and strategic direction on performance.
• Ensure strong financial governance and compliance for profit & loss and balance‑sheet items.
• Collaborate with divisional managers, financial controllers and senior leaders to manage expectations and results.
• Design, build and evaluate budget/forecast models and financial performance metrics.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; CA/CPA/MBA qualified.
• 7+ years experience in financial management or accounting.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team to resolve complex financial issues.
• Experience leading and mentoring a small team.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Advanced understanding of business unit cost drivers.
• Expertise in designing and evaluating budgets, forecasts and financial models.
• Knowledge of financial and business processes underpinning forecasts and budgets.
