Finance Manager

About the role

Stellar Distribution, a founder-led FMCG wholesale business, is looking for a Finance Manager to report to the CFO and take ownership of the full accounting function. Supported by a finance team member, you will deliver accurate accounts, timely month-end reporting and clear financial records, while helping shape the finance function, strengthen controls and adopt practical AI and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, and deliver management and board reports
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, customer portal invoicing, collections, supplier reconciliations and payment preparation
• Manage customer setup, credit checks, approved credit limits and customer and supplier master data
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, contribute to budgets and monitor working capital and bank covenants
• Work with operations on stock reconciliations, landed costs, costing and margin accuracy, including retailer deals, rebates and promotions
• Process and review payroll, apply relevant Awards and employment conditions, and coordinate tax and superannuation obligations
• Coordinate insurance renewals and claims, fixed asset records and depreciation, and vehicle registrations
• Lead the Odoo transition, including data cleansing, mapping, testing, opening balance validation and system reconciliations
• Develop procedures and controls, introduce practical AI and automation workflows, and develop the finance team member

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification
• Demonstrated experience running a complete accounting function and month-end close
• FMCG or wholesale distribution experience; import experience including landed costs and inventory accounting
• Experience working with retail customers, including case deals, rebates, promotional funding and claims
• Import experience, including ERP transitions and finance process improvement

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and sound Xero knowledge
• Strong practical Odoo experience preferred but not mandatory
• Australian payroll experience, including Awards
• Practical experience using AI and automation to improve accounting and reporting
