Finance Inventory Manager

About the role

MECCA is looking for a Finance Inventory Manager to lead inventory accounting and reporting, support a small, high-performing team and drive continuous improvement across its Finance function. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role ensures the integrity of inventory valuation and balance sheet positions, delivers accurate and timely financial reporting and maintains strong audit readiness. It is a fixed-term contract until November 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, landed costs and provisioning, and act as a key contact for external audit
• Ensure strong balance sheet governance and support month-end and statutory reporting, particularly across inventory and related accounts
• Drive continuous improvement in audit processes and coordinate team projects
• Partner with Retail, Distribution, Supply Chain, Commercial and Sustainability teams on inventory performance and ASRS reporting
• Lead, coach and develop a small team while contributing to finance transformation, systems enhancement and process improvement

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualification with significant experience in audit and financial accounting or a similar technical finance role
• Experience managing inventory accounting, controls and reporting in a retail, FMCG or product-based environment
• Ability to lead and develop teams and build relationships across a broad stakeholder group
• Proactive, analytical and committed to continuous improvement

Required skills

• Technical accounting knowledge, including AASB/IFRS reporting standards and balance sheet governance
• Inventory accounting, valuation and controls
