Payroll Officer (Fixed Term)

About the role

MECCA is looking for a detail-oriented, service-driven Payroll Officer to join its Support Centre team on a fixed-term contract until the end of 2027. Working in a high-performing Payroll team, you will own end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing, making sure team members are paid correctly and on time, and will work closely with People & Education and Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Process fortnightly payroll accurately and on time
• Manage payroll variations such as terminations, leave calculations and adjustments
• Maintain data integrity and confidentiality across systems
• Answer payroll queries with clear, timely support
• Help improve processes, systems and testing
• Work with People & Education and Finance to keep data flowing accurately

Required profile

• At least 4 years' payroll experience, ideally in a high-volume environment
• Knowledge of payroll legislation including PAYG, superannuation and Awards
• Retail experience is highly desirable, including knowledge of the GRIA awards
• Strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach

Required skills

• End-to-end payroll processing with high accuracy
• Payroll systems such as Workday, HR3 or UKG
• Intermediate Excel
