Finance & Commercial Manager

About the role

C&M Builders, a growing construction company that has recently partnered with the Johns Lyng Group (JLG), is seeking a Finance & Commercial Manager to lead its finance and commercial functions. Reporting to the C&M Business Leaders and the JLG Group CFO – Operations, the role is the strategic link between day-to-day project operations and corporate financial governance.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of month-end processes, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, aligning C&M's reporting with JLG Group policies
• Own Work in Progress (WIP) and revenue recognition, and challenge project teams on forecast margins, cost-to-complete and financial risks
• Support contract reviews, variations and claims, subcontractor agreements, bank guarantees and insurance policy registers
• Lead the annual budget, drive rolling cash flow forecasts and manage overhead cost controls
• Manage compliance, statutory and tax requirements, intercompany accounting and equity-related reporting

Required profile

• Proven background in construction accounting or a heavily project-based environment
• Experience in a large corporate environment is highly regarded
• Ability to influence, build relationships and challenge project milestones with construction professionals
• CA, CPA or equivalent post-graduate qualification required
• Right to work in Australia; pre-employment medical and criminal background checks where required
