Finance Analyst

About the role

Mercy Health is hiring a Finance Analyst for its Health Services finance team, based at the head office in North Richmond. The role provides practical, hands-on financial support across journals, month-end processing, budgeting, forecasting and analysis, and sits within the Finance Business Partnering team, reporting to the Finance Business Partner Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post general ledger journals and support month-end close processes
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts
• Prepare financial analysis, reports and business case support
• Provide flexible reporting support across program areas and to the wider finance team
• Support the annual acquittal process for Health Services
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and clear differences
• Carry out ad-hoc financial tasks as required

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in accounting, finance or a related discipline
• Experience in a financial analysis, transactional finance or finance support role
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Well organised, able to manage competing tasks and deadlines
• CA/CPA designation, or working towards it, is desirable

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of financial processes, including journals, reconciliations, budgeting and forecasting
• Strong Excel skills and experience with multiple finance systems
