Field Mechanic (15:13 Roster)

About the role

MPK Kinetic is seeking an experienced Field Mechanic to join its team on a 15:13 roster, based in Wellcamp, Toowoomba. The role reports to back-to-back Maintenance Superintendents and covers scheduled maintenance, repairs and servicing of vehicles and equipment used by MPK crews.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Mobilise in the field to repair vehicles and equipment when requested
• Record and report all work to the Leading Hand Mechanic or Supervisor
• Perform repairs on seals and bearings, axles, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, welding and grinding, and general mechanical repair
• Servicing and repairs of telehandlers, EWPs, pumps and general plant
• Handle breakdowns and troubleshooting of flares
• Servicing of light vehicles, light trucks and heavy vehicles under the NHVAS maintenance management accreditation scheme
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to optimise store inventory and report item usage
• Maintain stock and fluids in the service vehicle, keeping it clean and well stocked
• Be familiar with NHVAS requirements, check tools before changing shifts and give face-to-face handovers
• Keep work areas tidy and show HSEQ awareness

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the industry
• Strong mechanical aptitude and good communication skills
• Desired: computer skills

• 4WD operation in the field (PMASUP236)
• Heavy diesel qualification
• Drilling and completions induction and industry safety induction
• CPR (HLTAID001) and first aid (HLTAID002 and HLTAID003)
• Forklift licence
• HR or HC licence and manual car licence
