Field Engineer, Commercial

About the role

SpaceXSI is hiring Field Engineers to partner with prospective and growing commercial customers. You will be the technical face of the company in the field, helping customers evaluate the Grok platform (including Grok Build, Grok Bot and the Grok API), guiding them through proofs of concept and showing the value of AI across engineering workflows and business processes. You work closely with Sales, Product and Engineering to scope solutions, demonstrate capabilities and act as a trusted advisor to technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, demos and proof-of-concept engagements.
• Build working prototypes that connect multiple tools and agents so customers can see a complete workflow.
• Build trusted relationships with engineering leaders, architects and developers, acting as their technical advisor.
• Translate customer requirements into end-to-end solution designs, covering agents, tooling, controls and rollout guidance, including prompt strategy and context configuration.
• Deliver technical presentations, whiteboard sessions and hands-on workshops tailored to customer needs.
• Advocate for the customer internally, influencing roadmap priorities and escalating feedback to Product and Engineering.
• Work with post-sales teams to ensure a smooth handoff and successful onboarding.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the Grok platform and the competitive landscape.
• Support account planning and help drive expansion opportunities across a portfolio of customers.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and executive presence, able to code alongside developers and present to technical leaders.
• Deep understanding of how work gets done in modern organisations, such as the software development lifecycle, developer productivity and cross-team workflows.
• Hands-on technical ability and systems thinking; you do not need to be a full-time engineer, but must be fluent in technical workflows and AI tooling.
• Experience in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture or Pre-Sales, or having built systems that automate work across teams and tools.
• Thrives in a startup environment, resourceful, adaptable and able to run several evaluations in parallel.
