Enrolled Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

The Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking Enrolled Nurses to work in its busy Emergency Department and co‑located Emergency Medical Unit. You will provide direct, patient‑centred nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or midwife, contributing to high‑quality emergency services for a diverse caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to assigned patients in the ED and EMU, following clinical guidelines.
• Monitor patient conditions, record observations, and report changes to the supervising RN.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and short‑stay bed turnover.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Current Enrolled Nurse registration in Tasmania.
• Sound knowledge of nursing principles, procedures, and practices.
• Ability to respect the rights and dignity of individuals and groups.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard nursing care techniques.
• Competence in using hospital information systems for patient documentation.
