Engagement Manager, Environmental Sustainability

About the role

The Engagement Manager, Environmental Sustainability is central to bringing the ANU Environmental Sustainability Plan to life, engaging academic and professional staff and students across the University. The role delivers the plan through strategic communications, community engagement, outreach activities and collaboration with staff and students, supporting student projects, internships and the link between teaching and research and sustainable practice. It is an ANU Officer 8 (Administration) position, continuing, full-time or part-time at 0.8 FTE.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and implement communications, outreach and engagement approaches
• Bring expertise in community engagement and communications
• Link academic expertise with operational practice, including via student projects and internships
• Support the Environmental Sustainability Plan 2026-30, which focuses on climate action, nature conservation and the circular economy

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications and/or experience in communications, community engagement or related fields
• Experience in environmental sustainability highly regarded
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
