Employment Lawyer

About the role

Our client, a nationally recognised law firm, is seeking an Employment Lawyer to join its Workplace Relations team. You will provide commercial, timely advice on employment, industrial relations and safety matters for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate legal advice across employment law, industrial relations and safety issues.
• Manage contentious employment litigation and provide front‑end advisory support.
• Conduct legal research and keep abreast of case law and legislative developments.
• Prioritise and handle a robust workload autonomously.
• Develop an in‑depth understanding of client operations and industry dynamics.
• Build and maintain strong client and prospective client relationships.
• Mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Required profile

• 2+ years post‑qualification experience in Employment, Safety & Industrial Relations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage both litigation and advisory work.
• Strong commercial acumen and clear, plain‑language communication.
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to respect, balance, integrity and community engagement.
