Employment Consultant - Disability Employment

About the role

APM Group is recruiting an Employment Consultant for its Gladstone, Queensland site within the Inclusive Employment Australia Program. The role supports people with disability to find and keep sustainable employment, matching each person with suitable work and helping them build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Match participants with disability to sustainable employment and help them prepare for, find and keep it
• Help participants see their strengths, overcome obstacles and take on their new jobs with renewed purpose
• Solve employment challenges creatively and give participants the tools and support they need
• Advocate for inclusive hiring practices and workplace adjustments
• Build partnerships with companies committed to diversity and inclusion

Required profile

• A champion of diversity and inclusion who believes everyone deserves a chance to succeed
• A natural connector who can create opportunities for participants and talk confidently with stakeholders
• Innovative and solutions-focused, seeing challenges as opportunities
• Compassionate and empathetic, wanting to make a lasting positive impact
• Experience in other fields such as sales, retail, call centres, hospitality, consulting, business development or administration is an advantage
