Electrical Workshop Manager

About the role

JLE Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Workshop Manager for its Manufacturing & Hire division, based in Orange, NSW. The role leads and manages workshop teams and oversees projects on high-voltage electrical equipment used in major construction, renewables and data centre projects. It is a stable, workshop-based position with no site travel.

Key responsibilities

• Represent JLE as Workshop Manager, working with project support teams and Workshop Supervisors
• Lead and manage Workshop Supervisors, driving quality and profitability
• Help the general manager complete monthly progress reports, end-of-month invoicing and budget forecasts
• Take part in project handover meetings with estimators and engineers
• Assist with material and subcontractor procurement in line with tender budgets
• Review JLE quality processes so each project is installed and commissioned cost-effectively
• Maintain document control and oversee stock procurement, including long-lead items
• Assist with estimating workshop and hire projects and monitor workshop overheads and budgets
• Communicate with management and clients on planning costs and quality, and interact with customers when needed

Required profile

• Electrically qualified
• 7-12 years' experience in the trade
• Current driver's licence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Desirable: conducting meetings and issuing tasks to staff, engineering certificate, knowledge of relevant standards and codes of practice, OH&S training, experience with SimPro
