Electrical Engineer – Energy & Industrial Projects

About the role

Aurecon’s Energy & Industrial team in South Australia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to high‑profile projects across mining, water, renewables and defence. The role involves delivering concept and detailed designs for LV/MV power distribution and industrial processes, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce concept and detailed electrical designs aligned with client requirements.
• Apply safe design principles and ensure quality of engineering deliverables.
• Support design of LV and MV power distribution, instrumentation, control systems and process equipment.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews.
• Collaborate with industrial clients on large, multidisciplinary projects across South Australia and nationally.

Required profile

• Relevant electrical engineering qualification.
• Eligibility for Chartered status with Engineers Australia or active progress towards it.
• Experience in detailed electrical design; design management experience preferred.
• Experience with medium/high voltage or low voltage systems, instrumentation or control systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively and continuously learn.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electrical design software such as ETAP, PowerCad, CDEGS.
• Knowledge of LV and MV power distribution concepts.
• Understanding of instrumentation and control system design.
