Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

RSGx Engineering is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to deliver building services and infrastructure designs on major rail and energy projects across Victoria and NSW. The role focuses on electrical layouts, equipment accommodation, and detailed documentation within complex, multidisciplinary environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical building services solutions covering power distribution, lighting, essential services, communications, standby power and renewable energy.
• Prepare and review design documentation such as drawings, single‑line diagrams, schedules, specifications, calculations and technical reports.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, hydraulic, fire and other disciplines to ensure integrated, buildable solutions.
• Identify and resolve design, coordination and constructability issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site inspections to verify conditions and maintain design intent.
• Provide technical support to project teams, clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical layout design and equipment accommodation on complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards, especially AS/NZS 3000.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and/or PowerCAD.
• Sound understanding of Australian electrical regulations and standards.
