Early Childhood Educator (Certificate III and Diploma)

About the role

St Nicholas Early Education supports families and helps children develop the skills to flourish at home, in care and in communities. It is seeking Early Childhood Educators holding a Certificate III or Diploma to join its well-established service in Chisholm on a permanent full-time basis. The role allows growth through a variety of learning and development pathways.

Required profile

• An approved Certificate III or Diploma qualification for education and care services, in line with national law and regulations
• Child protection qualification
• Current First Aid certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management training
• Working with Children Check verification number
• Ability to undertake the physical requirements of an early childhood setting

Required skills

• Knowledge of the physical, emotional, cognitive, social and cultural development of children
• Ability to engage children through age-appropriate activities and experiences
• Knowledge of children's health, hygiene and nutrition needs
• Effective communication with children, families and staff
• Interest in additional needs and challenging behaviours
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in early childhood
• Demonstrated understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• Understanding of child protection, mandatory reporting, workplace health and safety and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards
