Early Career Strength & Conditioning Coach

About the role

The Queensland Academy of Sport is looking for an enthusiastic Early Career Strength & Conditioning Coach to support categorized athletes and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the QAS Recovery Centre. This position offers the chance to develop high‑performance skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based strength and conditioning support aligned with Individual Athlete Performance Plans.
• Assist with performance testing, tracking and monitoring for QAS athletes and deliver timely feedback.
• Collect, store and share athlete data using the Athlete Management System and other approved platforms.
• Apply National Quality Assurance Standards for data collection, equipment maintenance and athlete programming.
• Supervise athlete access to the wet therapy room, enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, professional facility.
• Record and report facility usage, athlete engagement and any incidents to QAS staff.

Required profile

• Degree in sport and exercise science or equivalent.
• ASCA Level 2 accreditation (or ability to obtain before start).
• Sports Integrity Australia Antidoping Fundamentals & Annual Update certification.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification.
• Early‑career practitioner with a passion for high performance and continuous improvement.
