Duty Manager – Front Desk Team

About the role

The Duty Manager will lead the Front Desk (Welcome) team at W Sydney, ensuring a high‑level guest experience while balancing operational needs across the property. Reporting to the Executive Assistant Manager of Rooms, you will act as the key point of contact in the absence of senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Welcome Desk, Whatever Whenever, Wheels and Concierge, maintaining high service standards.
• Drive the “Whatever/Whenever” culture and promote the Bonvoy loyalty program.
• Support the Welcome and Whatever Whenever Managers with business decisions and brand‑guideline compliance.
• Set realistic performance goals and monitor financial and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Previous Front Desk or Front Office experience, preferably in a supervisory or Duty Manager role within a luxury hotel.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication, and ability to work weekends and public holidays as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of check‑in/check‑out procedures, pre‑arrival planning and room inventory management.
• Familiarity with property management systems, specifically Opera.
• Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office suite).
