Driver Trainer

About the role

Toll Group, a global logistics and transport company, is looking for an experienced Driver Trainer in Tomago, NSW. The role develops the capability, safety and performance of the driving workforce through training, coaching, assessments and ongoing development programs, working closely with operational leaders and drivers to support a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver driver training programs, including group and 1-to-1 sessions, and coach drivers to carry out work safely and in line with company procedures and legislation
• Assess driver competencies during pre-employment checks and re-assess current drivers, prepare individual assessment reports and follow up
• Plan training with Training Managers, coordinate requirements and help design quality driver training materials
• Ensure mandatory training requirements are met, keeping accurate records of driver training and assessments

Required profile

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment
• MC Heavy Vehicle Driver's licence, or willingness to obtain one
• DG licence or willingness to obtain one
• Knowledge of HV mass management, fatigue management, dangerous goods, load restraint and road transport rules
• Experience as a skilled driver or MHE operator and as an experienced trainer and assessor
• Can-do approach to driver safety, coaching and risk reduction
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to review training effectiveness and recommend improvements
• Entitlement to work in Australia, with willingness to undergo pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical
