Purchasing Officer / Internal Sales

About the role

Rexel, a global electrical wholesaler with a strong local branch network, is looking for an experienced purchasing or procurement professional for its industrial-focused Dandenong branch. The role balances inventory control, supplier management and internal sales support, working closely with suppliers, customers and the branch team so that the right stock is available at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage branch replenishment to keep stock levels optimal and purchase in line with planning schedules
• Maintain stock policy and identify ways to improve inventory levels and availability
• Track open purchase orders, monitor supplier delivery performance and optimise purchase order schedules
• Analyse pricing across branches, find cost-saving opportunities and help reduce cost variance
• Monitor purchasing and inventory KPIs, including PO lines, SIFOT and cost variance
• Support the Internal Sales team with customer orders, product enquiries, quotations and follow-up
• Build relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders and industrial customers

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing, procurement or inventory control, ideally in electrical wholesale or a similar trade-based environment
• Strong understanding of supplier agreements, purchasing processes and market conditions
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced branch environment
• Customer-focused mindset and willingness to support Internal Sales when needed
