Driller Assistant – Underground (FIFO)

About the role

Boart Longyear is seeking motivated Driller Assistants (or candidates ready to enter the industry) to join a tier‑one global client in Western Australia. The position operates on a 2‑weeks on/1‑week off FIFO roster from Perth, offering competitive shift rates, production bonuses and on‑the‑job training.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily pre‑start equipment checks to ensure safe operation.
• Carry out general mechanical maintenance of drilling equipment.
• Complete safety documentation and adhere to safe work practices.
• Support the drilling team in maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Resident of Western Australia (essential).
• Current Manual C Class driver’s licence.
• National Police clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to pass a comprehensive pre‑employment medical, drug and alcohol screen.
• Physical capacity to lift 30 kg repeatedly in a labour‑intensive role.
• Right to work in Australia.
• Strong personal commitment to safety and teamwork.
