Distribution Manager – Smithton

About the role

The Distribution Manager will lead short‑term planning and day‑to‑day inventory movements for the cold‑storage operations at the Smithton plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient distribution while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and forward planning of inventory movements within the Cold Store/Drystore.
• Promote and improve health and safety culture through incident reporting, hazard identification and visible leadership.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, legislative and corporate requirements.
• Monitor adherence to quality specifications, report and investigate deviations.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and implement practical solutions.
• Develop team capability through coaching, training and performance planning.
• Oversee Warehouse Management Systems, SAP, pallet management and shipment‑related systems.

Required profile

• Leadership experience in distribution, warehousing, cold storage or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, health and safety, and food safety systems (HACCP, GMP).
• Ability to collaborate across departments and manage competing priorities.
• Results‑focused with strong logical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
