Disputes & Litigation Lawyer – Debt & Asset Recovery

About the role

This position is with a leading Australian law firm partnered with Elevate, seeking an experienced Disputes and Litigation lawyer to lead complex debt, asset recovery and civil litigation matters. The role offers a full‑time, permanent contract within a supportive, technology‑driven environment and hybrid work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee debt, asset recovery, contract breach and insolvency litigation across State and Federal Courts.
• Act as primary client account manager, building senior stakeholder relationships and driving client growth.
• Lead and mentor a small legal team, ensuring high‑quality delivery and professional development.
• Collaborate with practice leadership to grow the Disputes & Litigation practice and support business development.
• Improve operational efficiency by managing large matter portfolios, leveraging data insights and refining processes.

Required profile

• 10+ years post‑qualification experience in civil litigation with a focus on debt recovery, asset recovery and insolvency.
• Proven track record handling complex cases in State and Federal Courts, including enforcement actions.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of influencing senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and supervise junior lawyers.
• Comfortable working in a technology‑enabled legal environment.
