Disability Support Practitioner (SIL Houses, Wallsend)

About the role

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is recruiting Disability Support Practitioners (support workers) for its Accommodation SIL Houses service across the Newcastle region, with this posting specifically for homes in Wallsend. The role supports adults living in group homes to live independently and empowered lives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide respectful support with personal care, mealtimes, medication and daily routines
• Encourage skill-building, independence and decision-making
• Support community engagement, social connection and transport, including use of CPA vans and private vehicles
• Follow person-centred plans with empathy and professionalism
• Build positive relationships with clients

Required profile

• A can-do attitude and growth mindset, open to learning
• Client-focused approach to care
• Professional Behaviour Support experience or lived experience preferred
• NSW driver's licence (P2 or above)
• Physical capability to support clients with mobility or transfers
• Availability across various shifts, including early mornings (6am-9am), day shifts (9am-3/4pm), afternoons/evenings and awake overnights (10pm-6am); early morning availability preferred

• Hourly rate of $34.59-$35.67 plus superannuation, 25% casual loading and penalties
