Customer Service Officer (Part-Time, 30-35 Hours)

About the role

An experienced Customer Service Officer is sought for a busy, community-focused organisation in Werribee. Working part-time (30-35 hours per week) across front counter and contact centre functions, you will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them with a wide range of enquiries and requests. The position runs until 19 February 2027 and pays $39 per hour plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional, courteous customer service by phone and face-to-face
• Route customer enquiries and requests to the right department
• Resolve customer concerns where possible and offer suitable solutions
• Process payments, receipts and related transactions accurately
• Help with cashiering, daily balancing and banking processes
• Record and manage customer requests and maintain accurate customer records and enquiry data
• Prepare routine correspondence and administrative documents
• Keep customer service resources and information displays up to date

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service, a contact centre or a front counter setting
• Experience handling high-volume customer enquiries
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, friendly and customer-focused approach
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment

Required skills

• Cash handling, EFTPOS and reconciliation experience
• Good computer skills and quick learning of new systems
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Desirable: local government or community organisation experience, previous cashiering, knowledge of customer request management systems, and speaking a community language
