About the role
HammondCare is looking for a friendly volunteer to spend time with an older gentleman in Wallsend. The volunteer shares a cuppa, a chat and a few games of dominoes, or goes for a drive, giving the resident regular company. It is a deep, personal and lasting impact, made possible by just one hour a week.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the resident once a week, or every two weeks depending on availability, for about one hour.
- Share a cuppa and a chat, play games such as dominoes, or go for a drive.
- Keep visits flexible within the agreed schedule.
Required profile
- Aged 18 or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for visits between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
