Director – Strategic Performance & Project Delivery

About the role

The Strategic Policy and Insights Division of the State Development Group is seeking an experienced leader to head the Strategic Performance and Project Delivery team. This permanent director position focuses on advancing key government priorities, monitoring commitments, and supporting legislative and regulatory initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Drive organisational performance, governance and delivery of core government priorities.
• Lead the Strategic Performance and Project Delivery team in commitment monitoring and reporting.
• Support the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning’s legislative and regulation work programme.
• Oversee a portfolio of strategic projects and performance initiatives across the division.
• Ensure alignment of projects with the department’s strategic objectives and policy framework.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in strategic performance, policy or project delivery within the public sector.
• Strong understanding of government priorities, legislative processes and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams and manage complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
• Excellent governance and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
