Director, School of Regulation and Global Governance

About the role

The Australian National University is seeking an internationally recognised scholar to lead its School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet). Reporting to the Dean of the College of Law, Governance and Policy, the Director will shape the school’s research, teaching and outreach agenda in line with its strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall operational management of the School, including financial planning and resource allocation.
• Lead national and international research collaborations and policy outreach initiatives.
• Develop and sustain partnerships with academic, governmental and industry stakeholders.
• Promote an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to research, education and public engagement.
• Oversee people management, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Internationally renowned scholar with a strong record of academic leadership.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to engage across school, college and university levels.
• Demonstrated people‑management capability and financial planning experience.
• Track record of building strong relationships and fostering collaborative environments.
