Director of People & Culture

About the role

The Director of People & Culture will lead the People & Culture function for a leading community‑focused organisation in NSW. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and the CEO, you will shape workforce strategy, culture and organisational capability across a diverse, not‑for‑profit environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the People & Culture strategy covering workforce planning, employee engagement and leadership capability.
• Oversee HR operations including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management and organisational development.
• Provide WHS leadership, ensure payroll governance and maintain workforce compliance.
• Drive organisational change initiatives while fostering a collaborative, values‑led culture.
• Partner with senior leaders to embed a high‑performance culture aligned with the organisation’s mission.

Required profile

• Significant senior HR/People & Culture leadership experience in complex organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, WHS and industrial relations frameworks.
• Proven track record of leading organisational change, workforce transformation and culture initiatives.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
• Experience in community services, healthcare, disability or not‑for‑profit sectors is highly regarded.
